The bad smelling compounds in WWTP and sewage pumping stations are mainly: hydrogensulphide, mercaptans, dimethyl-sulphures and ammonia.
These compounds can cause breathing difficulties and diseases to people working in those plants. Furthermore, non-controlled bad smells can reach private houses outside the plant, causing olphactive disease.
Given the application, we proposed and installed a biological odour control system to defeat polluted and smelly: MonaShell® biotrickling filter.
